Central Coast Celiacs (of California) is a volunteer support group for people who suffer from Celiac Disease/Dermatitis Herpetiformis (CD/DH) and gluten intolerance.  We serve California's Central Coast, including San Luis Obispo County with cities such as Arroyo Grande, Pismo Beach, Avila Beach, Los Osos, Morro Bay and San Luis Obispo.  We extend south to Nipomo, Santa Maria, and north to Atascadero, Templeton, Paso Robles, Cayucos, Cambria and San Simeon.  Our goal is to provide the best information available to celiacs in our region as they stroll through gluten-free living........

We provide support, information and assistance to people affected by CD/DH through:

Promoting CD awareness among the general public and health care professionals.  Our research efforts ensure that clinical advancements related to CD/DH reach the physician, resulting in quality patient care and health improvement of those affected.

Bringing reassurance and comfort to treated celiacs and newly diagnosed celiacs.  We maximize chances of recovery through communicating the importance of dietary compliance.

Presenting up-to-date information. Support Group Leaders Betty Guthrie and Isabella Porter regularly attend national celiac conferences and CME lectures on celiac disease.

Central Coast Celiacs provides basic information about Celiac Disease/Dermatitis Herpetiformis.  Physician packages are also available.  Information shared by support group does not constitute medical advice. Central Coast Celiacs does not recommend initiation of a gluten-free diet without first consulting a physician familiar with CD/DH.
