11 March 2007:  The Celiac Disease Foundation (CDF) encourages celiacs to speak up for H. Con. Res 70! (Please see attached)

CDF is pleased to report that on February 16, 2007, Rep. Nita Lowey (D-NY) introduced H.Con.Res.70, which acknowledges the importance of many major issues that need to be addressed in order to improve the quality of life for all celiacs and their families.

CDF encourages you to spread the word to all celiacs, their families and friends to contact their members of Congress to co-sponsor and support this measure. The Bill needs to be passed by May 2007.  A summary of the bill can be found here.

This Bill provides that Congress:

(1) support the goals and ideals of National Celiac Awareness Month;

(2) work with health care providers and celiac disease advocacy and education organizations to encourage screening and early detection of celiac disease; and

(3) increase Federal funding for celiac disease research.

Contact your Representative to co-sponsor and support H.Con.Res. 70 and let your voice be heard -- today!
