About Us

Central Coast Celiacs is a volunteer support group for people who suffer from Celiac Disease/Dermatitis Herpetiformis (CD/DH).

Betty Guthrie and Isabella Porter provide assistance and information to celiac patients and health care providers.  To better understand and enjoy gluten free living, we share information with members bimonthly at 6:30 pm at the Arroyo Grande Hospital Conference Room.  For more information, please contact: Ph/Fax. 805.473.8415 or centralcoastceliacs@charter.net.

Betty Guthrie focuses on GF food research and shares this information with the group. She provides packets of information to newly diagnosed celiacs. Betty also contacts gluten free manufacturers, requests GF samples to share with the group and organizes our bimonthly meetings. Betty is in charge of our quarterly newsletters, sends updates to our celiac members, provides restaurant information, contacts food markets for tours of their facility and promotes celiac awareness to the general public, marketing and manufacturing industry.  View Betty's celiac profile here.  She can be reached at Ph/Fax: 805.473.8415 or centralcoastceliacs@charter.net.

Isabella Porter focuses on celiac research concerning CD/DH. She shares this information with the group and health care providers. Her information sources include articles on CD from The New England Journal of Medicine, Gastroenterology, Pediatrics, the European Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, European Pediatrics, and other resources used by physicians worldwide.  View Isabella's celiac profile here.  She can also be reached at: Ph/Fax: 805.541.3360 or areuaceliac@charter.net.

Both Support Group Leaders Betty Guthrie and Isabella Porter provide up-to-date information by regularly attending national celiac conferences and CME lectures on celiac disease and gluten-free living.
